Emersion in the Sand CD

Emersion in the Sand: Amplification to Revitalize and Deepen Your Experience of Sandplay by Dee Preston-Dillon, Ph.D.

Cost: $12.00 + $3.00 Shipping & Handling U.S.D.

In this hour long CD, four archetypal images are offered to support sandplay practice. Exercises in sand, drawing, and journaling link sand, the meaningful ground for clinical practice, with clinician awareness of their therapeutic weltanschauung. Emersion has three sections:

What is the significance of sand in your sandplay practice? The supposition in Emersion is that sand has an intrinsic value, that it is filled with symbolic meaning, and this meaning supports the process of sandplay.

Sand is not merely a medium to hold objects in the sandbox. Sand has a multidimensional, meaning-filled role in the process. A key step towards understanding the rich medium of sand for sandplay therapy is to reflect on your relationship with the sand in your practice.

Toward this goal Emersion offers some guidance. Through a demonstration of amplification, the recording invites the clinician to explore the symbolic richness of sand and how these facets are present during sandplay. In addition, four archetypal images are offered that help ground sandplay process. Permission, Protection, Potentiality, and Sensei Unknown are amplified and personified to offer images of helping sources to support the Free and Protected Space for Kalffian sandplay.

Enjoy the exercises using your sandplay materials, drawing, and journaling to enhance your skills for amplification and consider your personal relationship with your sand. The more aware we are of the sand and symbols in sandplay practice, the safer is the container we offer clients.
